Unicorn Valley Classes
- Wizard
A wizard is one of the weakest classes when it comes to brute strength and
fighting ability, as the wizard is a being who conrtols the powers of pure magic.
Their minds are by far the sharpest, retaining the knowledge, of most of the Valley's
most powerful spells. As you grow in knowledge, experience, and power, you will
become a powerful fighting force. Armed with your spells, you will be able to
aid the valiant warriors, cause excrutiating pain to your enemies, and be able
to protect yourself should the combat head your way. Wizards have the choice of
using their magic for good, evil, or neutrality. Upon reaching level 50 you have
the choice of becoming one of the following specialist wizards:
- Battlemage
The Battlemage is the most prepared wizard. It is he who comes
prepared for all things battlewise. He is the shield preparer. He is the brewer
of potions. He is the protector of the group.
- Wildmage
The Wildmage is the psycho of the wizard group. He believes he
can control the wild magic...Strange things tend to happen around wildmages.
- Elementalist
The Elementalist studies the elements around him...His specialty
is air, earth, fire, water, and electricity. He is a forceful creature, powerful
in his own right.
- Lich
The Lich is an undead wizard. Corrupted by the use of dark necromantic spells,
this evil creatures strives only to gain more power.
- Priest
A Priest is a mighty healer and protector of the weak. Led with a mission to
heal and teach, Priests have many varied healing spells at their command. While
Priests possess some combat spells and other magic useful for influencing the
battle's outcome, their main concern is self-preservation. Priests also have
the choice of serving either good, neutrality, or evil. Upon reaching level 50 you have
the choice of becoming one of the following specialist Priests:
- Apothecary
The Apothecary is an herbalist at heart. He spends his time sorting and
gathering new herbs to add to his collection. He is a healer beyond compare and
prefers conversation to combat.
- Monk
The Monk has devoted a large part of his life studying different types of
fighting. While still able to wear armor and wield weapons he prefers to strike
his opponent with his bare hands and feet.
- Necromancer
The Necromancer is a sick and twisted soul. He spends his time amongst
the dead and undead. He prefers to surround him self with those he can control.
- Thief
The Thief makes use of many skills often deemed improper by the rest of
society. The skills of the thief reflect his way of life, be it sneaking,
peeking into others' inventories, picking locks, or attacking from behind
with deadly backstabs. With amazing dexterity they have the ability to
circle around an enemy, but for living such a unlawful life, thieves have
always had a bad reputation so don't be suprised if you are always under
suspicion. Thieves start off fairly weak, but as they gain skills such as
backstab and circle they soon become dangerous foes. A thief is always
useful when there is a lock that needs pryed, or an item that one wishes
to acquire without detection. Upon reaching level 50 you can choose to
specialize into one of the following classes:
- Assassin
In any reasonably corrupt culture, there are those who wish
to eliminate someone or something whose very existence stands in the way
of their plans. To serve them are the Assassins: trained killers whose
services are for hire.
- Psionicist
There are those that can warp time and space with their
minds, These are the Psionicists. They are trained to use the powers
of the mind as a tool to benefit and aid them. Used properly they can also
use their mind as a sharp and severe weapon against those that threaten them.
Once they have mastered their skills they are an extremely dangerous enemy.
- Warrior
Warriors are the epitome of fighters, able to use all weaponry and armor
in the exercise of their most lethal of combat skills. A warrior must be
strong in body to survive his dangerous lifestyle, and though he has no
magic and limited skills he is nevertheless a formidable force with which
to be reckoned. Warriors learn no magic, and have no use for mana. Upon
reaching level 50 you may choose to specialize in one of the following classes:
- Beserker
The beserker is a warrior who has special attributes when in
combat. In combat, they can achieve an ecstatic state of mind that will enable
them to fight longer, harder, and more savagely than any human being has a
right to. This makes them deadly warriors...who can be as much a menace to
themself as to their enemies.
- Blademaster
Blademasters are master artisans with bladed weapons.
Blademasters also perform amazing displays of weapon skill and control as they
flash various weapons about their bodies with deadly precision. Blademasters
tend to showoff their skills for the mere joy of gaining praise. If there
is a showy way to wield, throw, or fight with a weapon, the blademaster will
know better than anyone.
- Vampire
Vampires are one of the powerful creatures of the Valley. Being a creature
of the undead, they require copious quantities of fresh blood. Instead of
using mana, Vampires use blood points (bp) for spell casting. If a Vampire
takes a large amount of damage, Blood points will be lost, but, Blood points
can give a small surge of hit points (hp) in battle when needed. As a undead
creature of the night, Vampires recieve an armor class (ac) bonus at night,
a time when they can use the skill mistwalk.
- Nosferatu
The base appearance of the nosferatu betray what they are
immediately. They are the ones mother's term as monsters to scare their small
children. Although the nosferatu can be horrid to look at, they are highly
intelligent. Able to manipulate beings to save them and do their biddings.
- Deathknight
A Deathknight is a horrifying corruption of a paladin, cursed by the
gods to its terrible form as punishment for betraying the code of honor
it had in its former life. A deathknight resembles a hulking knight
typically taller than 6 feet and weighing more than 300 pounds. Its
face is a blackened skull covered with shards of shriveled rotting flesh.
It has two tiny glowing orange-red pinpoints for eyes. A deathknight
has chosen the paths of evil and undead-life. He maintains his life-
force through the consumption of blood. All of his previous skills
have been horribly corrupted. A terrifying creature indeed!
- Dred-Lord
These are the most ruthless of the Deathknights. Leading hordes of undead into
battle to further the cause of evil, the Dred-Lord reigns supreme.
- Druid
The druid is a lover and protector of nature. Be it the forests, the
streams, or the bug-infested swamps, a druid always strives to protect
and preserve nature. Wielding mighty spells from the gods themselves,
druids strive hard at their work. Strong in wisdom, with a body trained
to near perfection by their rugged lifestyle. a druid has many disciplines
upon which to draw. From powerful spells of healing, to the ability to
create food and water, to the awesome power of nature which they command
in battle, druids demonstrate that mastery of magic is not just a hobby,
but a way of life for them. Able to face many warriors on almost even
footing, and able to shield themselves nearly as well as some wizards,
druids are truly a gifted class. Seeing as they follow the ways of nature,
which adheres to neutrality, should they stray from that path they will
find themselves reprimanded by Mother Nature. Upon reaching level 50
you will have the option of becoming one of these specialist classes:
- Avenger
The Avenger druid has seen Nature suffer great wrongs.
Whether it's a brutal king cutting down forests to build a fleet of
war ships, or an evil vampire menacing a peaceful halfling village,
the Avenger acts to stop them. Permanently! The Avenger has become so
righteous he has found that straying from the path of good can be
detrimental to his health.
- Beastfriend
A deep -perhaps instinctive- knowledge of habits,
actions, and behavior of animals comes naturally to the Beastfriend.
They feel quite protective of animals and fiercely punishes those who
inflict undue harm upon them. They have nothing against those that
hunt for food (which all must do in order to survive) but considers
hunting for sport repugnant. These druids continue to follow the paths
of neutrality.
- LostOne
The LostOne comes from lands that have been maliciously
destroyed, forests burned to the ground, swamps drained, mountains ruined
by mining, and so on. Rather than try to rebuild or move on, a LostOne
allows their heart to darken and embraces strong magic to seek revenge.
Even at the cost of destroying more of Nature. Due to their destroyed
mindset, these druids follow only the paths of evil.
- Ranger
A Ranger is the outdoorsman and adventuresome free spirit of the times. A
self-sufficent person, the ranger is adaptable and can survive in almost
any locale. Skilled with weapons and able to utilize some of the finest
armor available, a ranger is physically skilled enough to take on most any
foe. However, for especially hardy opponents, a ranger also can cast many
useful spells to both hinder his opponent and aid himself. From minor
curative magics to blinding his enemy, the ranger is the most adept class
at surviving on its own. A ranger typically travels light, but he does
have the mighty strength of a warrior to carry equipment needed in his
travels. Like the druid (the class other than warrior that he most
closely resembles), his need for help from outside sources is low.
Being concerned with the good of the forests, the ranger will find
himself suffering if he tends to pursue the black path. Upon reaching level
50 you will have the choice of specializing into the following classes:
- Feralyn
Most likely, the feralyn was abandoned in the wilderness as
either an infant or extremely young child. Gaining the aid of nature's
creatures, the feralyn has learned to survive as if he/she was one of them.
Communicating with animals comes more naturally to them than communicating
with other humans.
- Forestlord
A master of their surroundings, a forestlord can live in
any section of nature's natural lands. From a small grove to a massive
wilderness. Expert trackers and hunters, a forestlord could spend their
entire life in the woods with no need to ever venture out.
- Greenwood
The greenwood is most at home within the forests. It is not
likely that a greenwood would travel outside of their forest, feeling mostly
at home there. Most of the time you could not find a greenwood while he/she
is in the forest. They only let you discover them if they choose to. It is
also rumored they are so intuned with their forest they can meld into it and
become one with the trees.
- Gypsy
Gypsies are among the few who believe that a little bit of knowledge on
a lot of different subjects goes a long way. Otherwise known as a jack-
of-all-trades. Gypsies dabble in both arcane and spiritual magics as
well as self defense and cunning. Gypsies are very independent, yet
is always ready to join a party.
- Bladesinger
If one person was to ever want to learn how to use
a weapon from the best there was, they would be wise to seek out a
Bladesinger. A master of all weapons, who also has the unique skill of
casting various spells while dual wielding. A Bladesinger is the only
class known to man who can sing and cast spells while using a weapon for
their symantics. While all others spell casters must have atleast one
hand free to cast their spells.
- Minstrel
Of all the musicians in the world, none is as enchanting as the
minstrel. Minstrels spend their entire lives seeking musical perfection. Of
course, the definition of perfection differs from one culture to the next.
Minstrels believe that music should be simple, pure, beautiful and natural.
Furthermore, those who listen should become lost in the music, and their
spirits should transcend their bodies to ride upon the sweet flow of glittering
notes. It is said that Minstrels can cast spells by the simple strumming of
an instrument or the singing of a song.
- Paladin
Paladins are warrior priests who draw their power from acts of righteousness
and strict adherence to the Code of The Temple of Solomon. Their strength
in battle, combined with the ability to perform limited miracles is offset
by the difficulty they experience in perfecting their craft, and the penalties
they suffer when they stray from the path of good. Upon reaching level 50 you
will be able to specialize in one of the following classes:
- Wyrmslayer
The Wyrmslayer is a devout paladin determined to rid the world of the evil dragons.
Should he encounter those that are good, he allows them to live. Neutral dragons he
tries to convert, and should this not be possible, delivers unto them a quick death.
- Knight
The Knight is the epitome of paladinhood. He serves his king and church with
his whole being. His sole purpose is to serve the powers of Good.
- Swashbuckler
The Swashbuckler is a sophisticated, witty, lightly-armed and armored
hero. The swashbuckler is the happy-go-lucky hero with the ready
wit and the flashing rapier. He's happiest when he's in the big city
but can be an imposing warrior anywhere. He is part acrobat, part
swordsman, the epitome of charm and grace, always looking for a thrill.
Upon reaching level 50 you will be able to specialize in one of the following
classes:
- Outlaw
The outlaw is the heroic scofflaw, the person who defies the
laws and rulers of the land and steers his own course. Usually in the company
of other swashbucklers or outlaws, they fight the minions of the rulers they
defy, and comes to be regarded as a hero by others who suffer at those rulers'
hands.
- Demon
Born in the Abyss, Demons have long been denied access to the Prime
Material Plane. Longing for the freedom to roam the Valley wreaking
havok on the land, they started making pacts with mortals with the
promise of powers beyond the mortal comprehension. In return, the
Demon would thus be granted a permanent foothold in the Prime Material
Plane. Blood thirsty by nature, this thirst for blood transferred to
the mortal body in which they came into possession. It is through this
blood that the Demon is able to use their unholy power. Upon entering
the body of the mortal with whom they make the pact, the Demon is
initially weakened. Yet as they gain in experience, so does the strength
of their powers. Highly intelligent by nature, Demons are considered
terrible foes indeed. But to have one as an ally, would be highly
beneficial indeed. Upon reaching level 50 you will be able to specialize into
one of the following classes:
- Shadowmaster
This particular demon has mastered control of the shadows as well as those
things that create shadows.
- Spawn
These are the most despicable of demons. They seek to add to the chaos brought
about by the fomenting of evil.
- Lycanthrope
The Lycanthrope is a creature typically of the night, and of frequent
evil origins. Destined to roam the lands, shunned by society if their
true nature is known. The true Lycanthropes developed a control over
their changes so that they could walk the streets with the rest of
society in order to be close to their prey and to fulfill their thirst
for blood. These creatures are naturally dextrous and therefore use
dexterity as their primary attribute, though they are usually stout
characters as well and thereby claim constitution as a stong attribute
as well. Lycanthropes start off relatively weak as in the case of the
wererat, but as the progress through the stages of lycanthropy, and gain
skill such as throat tear and rend flesh they gain in power to rival
even the toughest of classes. Lycanthropes are always useful when the
stalking of prey, and suprise are needed when attacking a specific foe
and should never be counted out in a fight. Specialist classes will soon
be forthcoming.
- Shaman
The Shaman is the tribal witchdoctor. He is empowered by the gods and
any other creatures to help instruct the members of his tribe. He is a
healer, a warrior, a witch. Upon reaching level 50 you can choose to specialize
in one of the following classes:
- Voodoun
The voodoun is of a basically primitive lifestyle, though is
respected highly and feared among their tribes. They are very attuned with
the natural forces of the world. The voodoun interprets the will of their god
and acts as an advisor. For their advise and help, they could require several
different measures to be taken by their tribe. Wheither it be specific items
or the death of a person or beast.
Not all of the specialist classes have been implemented at this time. The
administration is hard at work setting them up.
